Hey, I'm Mac.
I’m based in SF now, but am proud of my Cajun Louisiana roots. I lead product and design teams by day and spend much of my free time making things by hand. I run Cypress, an independent print studio where I self-publish a travel and climate magazine and carve linoleum blocks inspired by places I’ve driven through or hiked. When not working, you'll usually find me road tripping through national parks, cycling, snowboarding, or scuba diving.
Professionally, I’ve built financial and credit products for small businesses — from leading cash flow and banking tools at Square to serving as the Chief Product Officer at Nav. I’m drawn to durable systems, strong teams, and products people rely on every day.
I’m colorblind, which has always been part of how I see the world and approach design (think of it as a built in accessibility measure). I’m especially drawn to the details in nature and find my inspiration outdoors, in the swirling bark of a bristlecone pine tree, the meandering layers of Sierra granite, or the swaying of giant kelp forests. A deep belief in conservation runs through much of my personal work, centered on protecting the landscapes and ecosystems that shape us.
If you’re ever in San Francisco, let’s grab a coffee.
Experience
Lead all Product, Design, Creative, and Marketing functions, with ownership over product strategy, customer experience, growth, and brand.
Built and led Mutiny’s design function, hiring a team of product designers and the company’s first creative designer.
Led design and manufacturing for the Square Debit Card and product design across Square’s cash flow and deposits products — Checking, Savings, Debit Card, Instant Transfers, and related bets.
Designed a white-label personal financial management platform used by international banking partners including Umpqua Bank (now Columbia Bank), Nationwide, Credit Union Australia (now Great Southern Bank), and De Volksbank.
Side projects
Cypress is an independent studio dedicated to thoughtful storytelling about the natural world. I self-publish a print magazine, managing the full creative and operational scope from concept through production and release, and produce original linocut and hand-printed works.
